If you head towards Pineville Kentucky you can see Chain Rock. Just head to the top of Pine Mountain Park, and take the trail.

On your way you'll notice many park benches and wonder why there are so many. After all, this trail is pretty easy. The trail will end at Chained Rock, a large boulder that is chained to the mountain. A long time ago this was the way the community protected itself from armed forces. When seeing troops, they would release the boulder to squash the enemy.
Since then, the town has built up, directly in the path of the boulder. So it wouldn’t be a good idea to release it! But the view is spectacular.

On your way back to your car, you'll realize you are now going uphill and appreciate all those benches, and you will use every single one of them!
Bring water. It takes three times as long to get back to your car as it did to see Chained Rock
